OCCO Meeting with Jonathan Downes of Zashin & Rich

Join the OCCO for our next meeting on Wednesday, September 28th at 10am at the County Commissioner's Association of Ohio Office in Columbus. Our speaker will be Jonathan Downes of Zashin & Rich Law Firm. 

Mr. Downes will speak on: 

Employee Recruitment, Retention, Shrinking Workforce, Inflation, and Macro-Economics. Multiple competing interests and the intersection of the economy and workforce affect how are employers are meeting the challenge while effectively delivering the services and goods.  His discussion will examine some of the multiple approaches to the competing forces. 

 

Jonathan J. Downes

Jonathan J. Downes, Esq. has over 30 years of experience in practicing labor and employment law in Ohio. Jonathan is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Labor and Employment law.

Jonathan is an adjunct professor at the Fisher College of Business, Master of Human Resource Management Program, at the Ohio State University lecturing on Labor Relations.

Jonathan represents cities, townships, counties, school districts, and public officials throughout the state.  Jonathan has negotiated contracts for all State-wide elected office holders and over 500 other contracts, has presented over 100 arbitrations and impasse proceedings, and represents clients in state and federal courts as well as administrative hearings.  

Jonathan speaks and lectures on a wide variety of employment and labor law topics at state and national seminars and conferences for a variety of professional associations and for clients.

He has been selected as one of the “Best Lawyers in America in Employment and Labor Law” every year since 2010, as an “Ohio Super Lawyer” every year since 2004, one of “Central Ohio Top Lawyers” since 2009, and twice received the OHPELRA “Award of Excellence”. 

For fun Jonathan coaches a High School Mock Trial team and serves on a school board.
